  • INTRODUCTION

    UJIA Scholarships for Shalom Hartman Institute's Rabbinic Torah Seminar are available for:

    Rabbis and Cantors* working in the UK Jewish community, particularly those who work with and support young people aged 14-35.

    *including those in training

    Help us to inspire young Jews to forge a personal relationship with Israel so that every Jew in the UK feels a strong sense of belonging to the Jewish people.

    At UJIA we believe that we that we must invest in and empower our Rabbis, particularly those who work with and support young people. The UJIA Scholarship for Hartman RTS is more than a learning experience – it's a commitment to your growth as a Rabbi, leader and educator. We believe in your potential to contribute significantly to the Jewish community.

    The Rabbinic Torah Seminar offers a rare opportunity for rabbinic leaders of all denominations to study together in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Participants explore the contemporary issues facing the Jewish people and elevate their leadership through transformative learning:

    Probe classical texts in morning Beit Midrash sessions with hevruta and shiur with senior Hartman scholars. Daily elective seminars with an array of Israeli and North American faculty. Tiyulim, cultural activities, and evening sessions with leading public intellectuals.

    UJIA SCHOLARSHIPS

    The programme cost is typically $1,320 (US), which the UJIA Scholarship will cover.

    The programme fee includes all educational materials, seminar programming, weekly morning snacks, daily lunches and most dinners, evening lectures, cultural activities, and one excursion outside of the Institute with different options around Israel.

    Please note the default UJIA Scholarship does not cover accommodation or flights. We encourage you to access professional development funding through your organisation.

    If required, the UJIA Scholarship can contribute towards the costs of flights and accommodation for the duration of the programme. This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and may require additional documentation.
